Philanthropy at OES
Oregon Episcopal School celebrates the community’s generosity in support of our mission and vision. Financial support from parents and friends of the school is essential in fulfilling our goal of preparing students for their futures.
Like other independent schools, OES relies on a tradition of philanthropy to support the operating budget and to fund campus and program development. Tuition provides approximately 89 percent of the income required for an OES education. The School relies on donations and non-tuition revenues to fund 11 percent of its operating budget. Tax-deductible annual donations, the auction, endowment revenue, and auxiliary income such as facilities rental and summer camps provide the balance, allowing OES to sustain the highest standards of academic and extracurricular excellence today and tomorrow.
The endowment is funded through major gifts. The principal remains intact as the school spends a percentage of the interest income each year to fund department chairs, financial aid, and curricular initiatives.
